TechWrite Translations Founder, Christine Nicholson.
Languages fascinated me already at a young age, and in particular etymology and semantics. I went on to become and Engineer (with a MSc E. E. and Env. E.) and as such I over the years found myself, regardless or my actual role, becoming the internal “translator” – making sure the technical teams and the various internal business teams, as well as the business and the customer, understand each other. This both in relation to different languages in international projects as well as the different language styles between different teams, and whether it concerns technical, process, project or marketing oriented documentation.
Living and working internationally, the importance of language as a communication tool became even more highlighted to me.
As a freelance translator, I combine my passion for linguistics with my interest in technology and my main focus are translations within engineering, technical and IT. I also frequently translate legal texts which requires attention to detail, as well as marketing and advertising material, which require creativity and a feel for how to use the words translate not only the words but the message from the source to the target language.
Originally from Sweden, I now live in Sydney, Australia and work with clients, corporates as well as individuals, globally.
